Barry Gray
I
have worked with wood for 50 years primarily restoring and refinishing antique
furniture. I've always had an interest in turning wood. An opportunity arose 5
years ago when I joined Southern Utah Wood Turners. Ninety percent of my
experience has come from what I learned by being a member of Southern Utah Wood
Turners. The last ten percent comes from "learning through turning".
The majority of my wood is FOG wood (found on ground) during spring cleanup in
southern Utah. The artistry does not come through my hands or my tools. The
artistry is in the wood itself. You don't know what you have until you turn the
wood and open up what's inside.
